Two Blind Brothers has been recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity. Launched in 2016 after both founders, brothers Bradford and Bryan Manning, were diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease, the organization began as an apparel brand committed to donating 100% of profits to blindness-related causes, including the Foundation Fighting Blindness. With 501(c)(3) designation, Two Blind Brothers can now accept tax-deductible donations, pursue foundation funding, and expand its programs and partnerships nationwide. The organization reports supporting a community of more than 600,000 people and operating a charity-branded optical eyewear collection, including tactile braille and braille-inspired designs aimed at raising awareness about blindness and accessibility.
WestGroupe is marking the third year of its partnership with the Waterloo Eye Institute, with total contributions of $65,000 since the collaboration began. The funding supports the institute’s clinical training programs and vision research initiatives at the School of Optometry & Vision Science, including a newly expanded 68,000-square-foot Waterloo Optometry Clinic planned for later this year.
