
Vision Expo West, in collaboration with VSP Vision and health care incubator Matter, announced the winners of the 2025 VSP Vision Innovation Challenge during a live competition at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas on Sept. 18.
The challenge, which drew 49 applicants from 12 countries and 18 U.S. states, featured six startup finalists who completed a four-week bootcamp before presenting their solutions to a panel of judges and an audience of industry professionals. The program highlighted technologies designed to improve provider and patient experiences in eye care.
Judges represented a mix of investment, health care, and vision care organizations, including Topcon, Sanitas, Matter, VSP, Foundry, Nostalgic Eye Care, Revital Vision, and The Vision Council.
Winners of the 2025 competition:

Later-Stage Winner: Reyedar (Groningen, Netherlands): Eye-tracking artificial intelligence for early detection of glaucoma, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s

Early-Stage Winner: Vitazi.ai (Santa Fe, NM): AI-powered decision support platform using retinal scans to detect diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, cardiovascular conditions, and neurodegenerative disorders

Audience Choice Winner: Muse AI (Richardson, TX): AI eyewear recommendation tool for personalized pre-shopping discovery
Finalists also showcased their solutions in Vision Expo West’s new LaunchPad area, which featured more than 25 emerging technology companies in AI, virtual reality, augmented reality, and diagnostics.
