The submission window for the American Academy of Optometry (AAO)’s Academy 2025 Boston scientific program is officially open. The program committee is now welcoming abstracts from clinicians, scientists, educators, students, and residents interested in presenting original research or clinical case reports at the AAO’s annual meeting, scheduled for Oct. 8–11 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The scientific program is a longstanding feature of the AAO’s annual meeting, providing a platform for the exchange of new ideas, recent findings, and discussions on topics central to the profession of optometry and vision science. Presentations are delivered in two formats: podium paper sessions and poster presentations.
The committee encourages submissions of innovative, high-impact work and emphasizes the importance of adhering to submission guidelines to ensure consideration. Abstracts will be evaluated based on criteria including scientific novelty, methodological quality, and the validity of conclusions for research submissions, as well as clinical significance and case completeness for case reports.
The submission deadline is May 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Full submission instructions, evaluation criteria, and guidelines are available here.
