The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation and Vision To Learn have renewed their partnership for two more years, extending an eight-year collaboration that provides free vision care to children in need.
Through the partnership, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation supplies lenses and lab services that allow Vision To Learn to expand its free vision care program for students. Since 2018, the two organizations have worked together in more than 16 states, providing eye exams and glasses to more than 420,000 children. Under the renewed agreement, OneSight will continue its annual support and become the exclusive provider of lenses and lab services for Vision To Learn in Texas and Ohio.
“More than 3 million children across the country go to school every day without the glasses they need,” says Ann Hollister, president of Vision To Learn. “Our partnership with the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation aims to address this need and offer every child the opportunity to succeed.”
The two nonprofits marked the partnership’s renewal on Oct. 22 with an event at Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary School in Dallas. Leaders from both organizations discussed their ongoing collaboration, and assistant principal Maria Nava spoke about the impact vision care has on students. During the event, nearly two dozen children were fitted with new glasses.
