Now by Vision Expo, a trend showcase and award program highlighting innovation in eyewear, has announced the launch of its inaugural Now Design Competition. Launched in collaboration with The Vision Council (TVC) and the Accessories Council, the international contest invites designers, students, eyecare professionals, and creators to submit original eyewear concepts under the theme “Visionaries of Tomorrow.”
Participants are encouraged to explore both conceptual and functional designs for eyewear and optical accessories, with entries ranging from avant-garde frames to technology-enhanced creations. The competition seeks to highlight how eyewear can serve as a platform for personal expression, health innovation, and evolving fashion trends while offering a platform for emerging talent and promoting creative innovation within the optical industry.
“This competition is about championing the next generation of creative thinkers who will shape the future of eyewear—not just as a product but as a cultural and technological medium,” says Nico Roseillier, director and creator of Now and owner of Un-Ti-Tled Creative Agency. “We want to amplify those wild, brilliant, unexpected ideas that inspire the industry to move forward.”
Submissions are open through Aug. 20, finalists will be announced Aug. 28, and the winner will be announced during Vision Expo West, taking place Sept. 17-20, in Las Vegas.
The grand prize winner will receive travel and hotel accommodations for Vision Expo Orlando 2026, a feature in AC Magazine and other industry publications, a creative consultation with Un-Ti-Tled Creative Agency, and mentorship opportunities with leading designers and brands.
The competition is open to individuals aged 18 and older, with no professional experience required. Submissions may include renderings, illustrations, 3D models, or eyewear-related accessories, accompanied by a brief project description and entry form. Entries must be original and not currently available for sale.
