National Vision Holdings Inc. has appointed Alex Wilkes as CEO effective Aug. 1. Additionally, he will join the board of directors at that time. Currently serving as the company’s president, Wilkes succeeds Reade Fahs, who will transition to executive chairman of the board and remain involved to support the leadership change. Wilkes joined National Vision in August 2024 and previously held leadership roles at CooperVision and EssilorLuxottica.

Lindsay Allen has been named the director of development and alumni relations for the New England College of Optometry. Allen brings more than 20 years of experience in advancement and alumni engagement, with previous leadership roles at Boston University, St. Mark’s School, Clark University, Boston College, and the University of Utah.
Topcon Healthcare Inc. has appointed Daniela Ferrara, MD, PhD, as chief medical officer, bringing extensive experience in retinal imaging, clinical research, and AI integration in health care. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s clinical and medical strategy, including the development of AI-powered ocular imaging solutions aimed at detecting and managing ocular and systemic diseases. Dr. Ferrara previously served as principal medical director in ophthalmology product development at Genentech and holds an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
