Carl Zeiss VisionInternational GmbH has completed the acquisition of 100% of Brighten Optix, a company specializing in orthokeratology and specialty contact lenses, following an agreement first announced in June 2025. Brighten Optix serves optical retailers, ophthalmologists, eye clinics, and hospitals, with a focus on myopia management. Integration of Brighten Optix into Zeiss Vision Care has begun, with operations continuing uninterrupted.
EssilorLuxottica and Burberry announced the renewal of their global eyewear licensing agreement, extending the partnership through Dec. 31, 2035. The existing agreement was set to expire on Dec. 31 this year. Under the renewed terms, EssilorLuxottica will continue to develop, produce, and distribute eyewear under the Burberry brand worldwide. The two companies have partnered on Burberry-branded eyewear since 2006.
EssilorLuxottica announced a collaboration with Fondazione Chips-IT, Italy’s research center for advanced integrated-circuit design, for developing application-specific chips for smart eyewear within Chips-IT’s open-hardware environment. EssilorLuxottica plans to work with Chips-IT engineers and industry partners to advance ultra-low-power electronics, sensors, and wearable computing.
