Bausch + Lomb announced that Eduardo C. Alfonso, MD, and Steven H. Collis have been appointed to its board of directors. The appointments are effective January 1, 2026, and following changes announced in August 2025, the board is now comprised of 10 directors.

Dr. Alfonso is an ophthalmologist and internationally recognized expert in corneal and external eye diseases. He serves as director of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also holds the Kathleen and Stanley J. Glaser Chair in Ophthalmology.

Collis became president and CEO of Cencora Inc., a pharmaceutical distribution and health care services company, in 2011 and served in that role through 2024. Under his leadership, the company rebranded from AmerisourceBergen to Cencora in 2023 to reflect its global reach. Collis then transitioned to executive chairman of the board until he stepped down in late 2025. He currently serves on the board of Elevance Health, a managed health care and insurance company.
Kristin Kunkel has been appointed head of U.S. key accounts, e-commerce, and training for Silhouette. In her new role, Kunkel will oversee strategy development for key accounts and lead the company’s training programs for optical professionals and retail partners. Kunkel joined Silhouette in 2021 as head of U.S. key accounts and e-commerce, previously launching initiatives such as the U.S. Click & Collect program. She has also held leadership roles at The RealReal and Oliver Peoples Eyewear. Kunkel is a member of The Vision Council and serves on the Marketing Committee of the Optical Women’s Association.

Pair Eyewear has officially launched into the independent optical channel across North America. Following a pilot program with select independent practices, the company refined its customer experience, operational workflows, and wholesale ordering platform to support large-scale adoption.
Safilo Group has renewed its global licensing agreement for the design, manufacturing, and distribution of prescription frames and sunglasses under the Pierre Cardin brand. The renewed partnership, extending through 2031, continues a collaboration that began in 1991 with the launch of the first Pierre Cardin eyewear collection.
