IDOC has announced the theme for its 2026 national conference, The Connection, scheduled for Feb. 12–15, 2026, at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL. The event’s theme, “The Future in Focus,” will center on equipping independent optometrists and their teams with strategies and insights for navigating the evolving landscape of eye care.
Organizers describe The Connection 2026 as an opportunity for attendees to explore emerging trends, clinical advancements, and business strategies designed to support the long-term success of independent practices.
As part of the event planning, IDOC has opened its call for speaker proposals. The organization is seeking presentations that offer practical, future-focused content across three educational tracks:
- Foundations Track: Focused on essential skills and strategies for new practice owners
- Advanced Track: Covering clinical, leadership, and business strategies for experienced practitioners
- Staff Track: Dedicated to staff training and operational development
Priority topics for this year’s conference include data-driven practice management, staff training, artificial intelligence applications in optometry, patient acquisition and retention strategies, and CE-certified clinical education.
The deadline for speaker proposal submissions is June 26. Proposals should include a session title, description, speaker biography, relevant experience, and CE certification details where applicable. Click here to submit.
