The American Optometric Association (AOA) has issued a call for courses for the continuing education program at Optometry’s Meeting 2026, scheduled for June 17-20, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ. The AOA is inviting submissions for lectures and workshops covering a range of topics, including emerging technologies, patient care innovations, practice management, and interdisciplinary health care collaborations.
All submissions must be entered through the AOA’s online application portal by July 20. Courses will be considered for AOA CE hours, and those submitted for doctor education may also be eligible for COPE approval. Additionally, joint education courses for optometrists and paraoptometrics are encouraged.
Course acceptance will be based on criteria such as AOA membership for primary speakers and originality of content. Notifications of accepted courses will be sent by Sept. 19. Accepted speakers will be required to submit final materials by set deadlines in 2026 and adhere to disclosure and professional guidelines, including policies regarding the use of artificial intelligence in course materials.
AOA outlines details on speaker honoraria and reimbursement on their website, with standard rates of up to $350 per hour for individual instructors and adjusted fees for multispeaker sessions.
