Costa Sunglasses introduces Pilothouse Pro, a new semi-rimless shield style designed to provide a high-wrap field of view and expanded coverage for use on the water. The launch marks the EssilorLuxottica brand’s first shield-style release in 15 years and expands its Pro Series lineup with enhanced protection and lens technology.
Pilothouse Pro is the first model in Costa’s assortment to meet the American National Standards Institute Z87.1+ standard for occupational eye and face protection, according to the company, which requires eyewear to pass impact resistance tests, including high-mass and high-velocity impact trials.
Constructed from injected bio-resin, the Pilothouse Pro incorporates airflow channels in both the frame and lens to help reduce heat buildup and fogging, an anti-skid top brow, Hydrolite retention temples, and an integrated drainage system designed to help manage moisture in humid or high-exertion conditions, Costa shares.
