Euclid Vision Corporation launches Be Free Day, a silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lens designed for myopia management that does not require new fitting guides, equipment, or changes to standard practice workflows, according to the company. Developed using technology licensed from the Brien Holden Vision Institute, an organization known for research in myopia optics, Be Free Day incorporates a dual-action, multistep optical design intended to provide peripheral myopic defocus while maintaining central visual quality, Euclid shares. The lens features a biomimetic surface material designed to improve wettability, resist deposits, and support all-day comfort.
Be Free Day lenses are manufactured from a silicone hydrogel material with oxygen transmissibility values of 91 Dk and 114 Dk/t and include Class II UV protection. The lenses are designed to fit similarly to standard spherical daily disposable soft lenses and are available in spherical powers from -0.50 D to -6.00 D in 0.25 D steps. Trial packs of 10 lenses are available for initial fitting and patient adaptation.
