The Accessories Council will celebrate Selima Salaun, founder and creative director of Selima Optique, with a Hall of Fame event on October 15. The French-born designer has built a career around distinctive eyewear design and preservation of optical history, including an archive of more than 50,000 vintage frames. The Accessories Council describes Salaun as one of the most influential figures in eyewear design.
Bausch + Lomb has appointed Rob Nadler, MD, senior vice president of business development and corporate strategy. Based in the United Kingdom, Dr. Nadler brings more than 20 years of experience in ophthalmology, business development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and investment banking, most recently serving as chief growth officer at Optegra Eye Health Care. An ophthalmologist by training, he previously held leadership roles at Rayner and practiced within the United Kingdom’s National Health Service.
Scott Jens, OD, FAAO, has been named to the executive team at Deya as chief commercial officer (CCO). Dr. Jens is one of optometry’s foremost technology visionaries, having been cofounder and CEO of the eyecare software company RevolutionEHR. Since 2019, he has been a consultant to dozens of software companies and their leaders through his executive coaching service, Sandbox Spaces LLC. In serving as CCO, he is responsible for developing the Deya brand and go-to-market strategy, as well as assisting the development team with product management insights.
EssilorLuxottica has restructured its senior leadership as the company works to more closely integrate its traditional eyewear business with its growing medtech operations and expand its presence in North America. The changes include the appointment of Chrystel Barranger as chief growth officer, an expanded role for Davide Schinetti as chief operating and R&D officer, and the promotion of Alfonso Cerullo to oversee optical retail and medical and surgical activities in North America. The restructuring follows several high-level departures, including Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, who resigned last month as chief strategy officer and president of Ray-Ban.
