Fielmann Group has established a US-focused optometry advisory board to support its strategic growth in the American vision care market. Howard Purcell, OD, FAAO, president and CEO of the New England College of Optometry, has been appointed chairman, joined by 6 optometric doctors. The board will provide strategic and medical guidance to Fielmann Group and Fielmann USA leadership, with a focus on expanding integrated, patient-centered vision care and advancing the company’s scope of practice in the United States.
Silhouette Group has named Christian Bachler as CEO and chairman of the executive board, succeeding Reinhard Mahr, who will remain with the company as CFO until his planned retirement. Bachler brings more than 20 years of international management experience, most recently serving as executive vice president at Fiskars Group, where he led the global Vita business area. He has also held leadership roles at Swarovski, with a focus on product, design, and marketing.
Zeiss Vision Care has appointed Emi Cardarelli as vice president and head of retail for its US business. Cardarelli joins from Kenvue, where she served as vice president of customer development, leading a multicategory portfolio tied to Walmart US and international operations. Her background also includes leadership roles at Unilever and 13 years at Walmart. In her new role, Cardarelli will oversee the strategy and expansion of national and regional retail channels across the United States, working across functions to strengthen retail partnerships and drive growth.
