IDOC is continuing its Vision Forward series for independent optometrists and their leadership teams with 2 regional events this fall, following workshops held earlier this year in Chicago and Boston. The 2-day events are scheduled for Atlanta on October 9-10 and Phoenix on November 6-7.
Programming includes expert-led sessions, structured workshops, goal setting, and interactive roundtable discussions focused on improving practice performance and long-term viability. According to IDOC, participants will receive business training, peer insights, and access to resources that support operational and clinical goals. Roundtables will address common practice challenges, emerging trends, and potential solutions.
IDOC CEO Dave Brown said independent optometrists are facing pressure from corporate consolidation and declining margins on product sales. He added that Vision Forward is intended to help practice owners serve more patients, compete across the market, and develop actionable plans for stronger, more profitable practices.
The Phoenix program will also offer an optional IDOC Labs GSRx optical tour and lunch. IDOC vendor partners will attend both events to present product innovations and information about savings that are available through IDOC membership. Additionally, IDOC plans to double the number of Vision Forward events in 2027 following attendee feedback from this year’s workshops.
