Zeiss Vision Care expands its prescription sun lens portfolio with new additions to its Polarized Sun Rx line and the launch of the Zeiss PerformaSun Rx portfolio.

According to the company, the expanded portfolio is designed to address outdoor vision needs through prescription sun lenses that provide glare reduction, contrast enhancement, UV protection, and customized visual performance for a variety of outdoor environments.

The expanded Polarized Sun Rx portfolio introduces 9 new lens colors, including fashion-oriented options. Zeiss says the lenses are designed to reduce reflected glare, enhance contrast, and provide sunglass-level UV protection up to 400 nm. The lenses can be customized to a patient's prescription and are compatible with a wide range of sunglass frames, coatings, and mirror treatments.

In addition to the polarized portfolio expansion, the new PerformaSun Rx portfolio includes 9 lens options tailored to specific outdoor activities and environments. The lens categories are titled Drive, Field, Trail, Deep Water, Inshore Water, Fresh Water, Court, Active Road Warrior, and Active Road Extreme.

PerformaSun Rx lenses feature Zeiss SpectraEQ technology, which the company says balances portions of the visible light spectrum to enhance perceived contrast and color perception. The lenses also incorporate polarized filtering up to 99% efficiency, UV protection up to 400 nm, and up to 92% blue-light filtering from sunlight. Additional features include impact resistance, scratch-resistant Zeiss DuraVision coatings, Zeiss CleanGuard technology for smudge resistance and easier cleaning, and standard mirror or flash coating options.
