J.F. Rey launches the latest collection within its Sledge series, emphasizing engineering as a core element of both function and aesthetics.
Positioned as a showcase of the company’s craftsmanship, the Sledge series takes an architectural approach to frame construction, incorporating visible structural elements as part of its visual identity, according to the brand. Central to the collection is a patented hinge system, which reimagines a key functional component of the frame. The screwless Flex mechanism is integrated directly into the temple, designed to provide flexibility and durability while maintaining a streamlined appearance.
The collection is available in a range of materials, including titanium, acetate, and hybrid constructions. Frames incorporate components such as Grade 5 titanium, surgical stainless steel, carbon fiber, and plant-based acetate. Design details include a metallic element that highlights the hinge system, often contrasted with color treatments and satin-finished titanium surfaces.
The JF3123, pictured above, is a bold rectangular silhouette crafted with patterned, translucent acetate.
The JF3134 features a geometrical front with a contrasting keyhole bridge.
First introduced in 2023, the Sledge series continues to expand seasonally, serving as an ongoing platform for the brand to explore the intersection of technical performance and design, J.F. Rey shares.
