The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is gearing up for the 27th edition of the Hong Kong International Optical Fair, held from Nov. 6-8 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. This year, fair organizers anticipate around 800 exhibitors from approximately 20 countries and regions.
Here, we highlight some key areas and programs to bookmark pre-show.
The fair includes group pavilions representing France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Visionaries of Style (VOS), as well as the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association. Plus, the celebrated Brand Name Gallery will house around 200 well-known brands from around the world. Professional models will partake in mobile Eyewear Parades throughout the fair to showcase the latest, on-trend designs.
The Contact Lenses & Accessories zone returns this year as a response to the rising demand for contact lenses globally. The IT Solutions and Shop Fittings zone, which made its debut last year, features approximately 10 exhibitors showcasing the latest technological applications and device designs.
The award-winning designs of the 21st Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition will be on display in Hall 1D during the fair.
Finally, the fair’s 17th Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium will welcome international industry experts and their insights on the topic of advancements in optometric specialties.
Trend seminars are also scheduled, including a talk on the latest eyewear trends with Eyecare Business managing editor Kerri Ann Raimo on Nov. 7 in Hall 1D starting at 11:30 a.m.
