    December 23, 2017 -- Zyloware announces the death of Robert (Bob) Shyer, former chairman of Zyloware Eyewear, the oldest family-owned and-operated frame company in the U.S. He died peacefully on Dec. 19th, surrounded by family. He was 86. Shyer was best-known in the optical industry for creating the first celebrity branded eyewear, Sophia Loren.

    March 1, 2017 -- Luxottica Group’s 2016 year-end financial statement reports consolidated sales of almost $9.5 billion (more than 9 billion euro).
