Transitions Optical hosted more than 650 industry professionals from North and South America this week to its 21st annual Transitions Academy, held in Orlando, FL. Capping the event was the 2016 Transitions Innovation Awards, which honored ECPs, labs, and other professionals for their efforts in not only promoting Transitions products, but patient care in general.
The five category winners were:
Best in Marketing -- Value Optical, an optical chain in Trinidad & Tobago with 11 locations
Best in Training -- New Look Eyewear, a Canadian optical retailer with 78 branches
Best in Patient Experience -- Professional VisionCare, an independent practice located in Columbus, OH
Best in Growth Achievement -- Pacific Eye Care, an independent practice located in Port Orchard, WA

During the two-day, invitation-only event – themed “My Light” – attendees took part in professional development and product technology workshops; heard from experts and educators on marketing and industry trends; and learned from peers and partners. They got a first look at Transitions Optical’s planned consumer campaigns for 2017 and new ECP tools to help promote Transitions products, got a chance to learn more about Transitions technology.
A keynote address on understanding, working with, and marketing to different generations (especially millennials), was delivered by bestselling author and researcher (and millennial) Jason Dorsey.
