VSP Global announced today that Jim McGrann has resigned as president and CEO in order to pursue other career opportunities. Rob Lynch, who served as president and CEO from 2006 to 2015 and remains a member of the Board of Directors, will assume the role of interim president and CEO.
Prior to joining VSP Global in 2008 as president of Eyefinity, McGrann (pictured here, top photo) served as senior vice president and chief information officer for nine years at Marchon Eyewear, Inc. In 2010, he became VSP Global’s chief technology officer and CEO for Eyefinity. In 2012, he became president of VSP Vision Care and president and CEO of VSP Global in 2015.
According to statement released today, the VSP Board has begun a search for a permanent successor.
Lynch now returns (albeit temporarily) to the role he first acquired in 2006. Lynch (pictured here, bottom photo) oversaw the evolution of VSP into a vertically integrated global company by executing more than 30 different acquisitions, the largest being Marchon Eyewear, Inc. Other components of the Lynch-guided VSP include: a network of laboratories that has evolved from two in 2006 to the 15-location VSPOne lab network today; the acquisition of AcuityLogic, a practice management solution that moved Eyefinity into cloud computing in 2010. At the time of Lynch’s departure as president and CEO in 2015, VSP Global reported that he had guided the company to becoming a projected $5 billion revenue company.
